Vitronic Donates to Children's Hearts Skiing Trip

Vitronic has donated €2,500 to the Children's Heart Trust, part of the German Heart Foundation. The money will support a skiing trip to Achenkirch in Austria, putting a smile on the faces of children with heart defects. Vitronic's Managing Director, Gerhard Bär, presented the donation to Martin Vestweber, the German Heart Foundation's Managing Director.

Tragically, thousands of children are born every year with heart problems. Many receive medication or surgery, which improve their chances of survival. For some cardiac defects however, no suitable therapies exist.

The German Heart Foundation aims to improve treatment options and allow sufferers to lead a normal life by supporting various research and development projects. It also acts as a point of contact for patients and provides a wealth of information.

Vitronic, which supplies machine vision systems to a wide range of industry sectors, generously donates to non-profit organisations every Christmas. The trust's skiing trip in Achenkirch this year promises to be very special. Supervised by a cardiologist, children with heart defects from nine years of age will learn how to ski. Vitronic hopes that they will experience the normality that is often missing from their everyday lives and have a great time too!

Gerhard Bär is delighted; "I am convinced our money has been well invested here and will benefit the children directly. The skiing trip will make children, who often have difficult lives, very happy. And that's of great value."
