Vitronic Exhibiting at Leading Traffic Show

VITRONIC, the machine vision specialist, is exhibiting its laser-based traffic enforcement systems at Gulf Traffic 2011, which takes place 12-14 December in Dubai.

Gulf Traffic showcases innovations, solutions, products and services from the world’s leading traffic and transport infrastructure suppliers. It attracts a wide range of professionals and features hundreds of exhibitors, many of which are based in the UK. Visitors can source solutions to business issues, check out the latest advancements in the traffic and transport industries, forge new contacts and generate sales leads.

Located at booth 3F30, VITRONIC will display the following systems:

Poliscanspeed is a system for fixed and mobile speed enforcement and used all over the world. It uses LIDAR (light detection and ranging) technology to detect how fast vehicles are travelling. It operates in difficult road conditions, such as bust multi-lane roads, and ultimately reduces traffic deaths and injuries caused by speeding.

Dubai uses Poliscanspeed and road deaths have dropped 27 percent in the last year, making the Emirate’s road safer. For this reason, VITRONIC is one of the nominees for ‘Changing Drive Behaviour’ in the Gulf Traffic Awards.

Poliscanredlight works at traffic lights, detecting vehicles that run red lights by monitoring the intersection with an invisible laser scanner. Whenever a violation occurs, the system takes two pictures of the offence with a high-resolution camera. The first as soon as the vehicle crosses the stop line, the second one in the intersection.

Users can combine Poliscanredlight with Poliscanspeed to create Poliscanred+speed, which provide speed and red light enforcement even if vehicles change lanes or tailgate.

Poliscansurveillance is an ANPR (automated number plate recognition) system, which identifies license plates at high speeds. It provides read rates close to 100% and is capable of detecting colours on license plates, which increases the range of acquirable data. Poliscansurveillance can also class vehicles depending on their size, making it suitable for use on toll ways.

VITRONIC hopes Gulf Traffic will help it build on its success this year, which the company has achieved despite economic conditions, and take the business forward into 2012.
